The Water Replenishment District which serves 43 cities in Los Angeles County is hosting the 4th annual Groundwater Festival. The event is open to the public and focuses on water consumption, conservation and groundwater awareness.
4,000 people are expected to attend this year's festival which will feature over 40 exhibitors including the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, the Aquarium of the Pacific, Eco Star, and the California Science Center. Each exhibitor will have educational and interactive activities for all ages.
All visitors will receive a free tote bag at check-in. Children can fill a "Treasure Chest Card" with stamps from exhibitors to trade in for a prize. The grand prize, a high efficiency washer, will be given away at 1pm. The first 2,000 visitors will receive a free meal from In-N-Out.
The festival will be set up in the parking lot of WRD's headquarters at 4040 Paramount Blvd in Lakewood on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Festival hours are 10am - 2pm. Parking is available at any of the shopping centers adjacent to the festival.
